This position will report to the Manager of Voice Network Engineering.The primary role of this position will be to provide Video / AV Conferencing design and engineering support for an ACS customer.This position will provide strategic and technical direction, design, and engineering support (Polycom Video Conferencing support).The candidate will interface with appropriate customer and ACS leaders to gather requirements and provide solutions to meet emerging business needs.The candidate will also interact with vendors to gather information and manage their performance and service delivery.The job will also entail ensuring daily checks and proactive measures are taken to avoid down time occurrences.The candidate will be responsible for escalating/resolving incident records as they relate to Video Conferencing and Voice systems and for providing maximum availability of those systems.
Other functions include:
Video conferencing and Audio Visual Support
Execute all aspects of VC and TelePresence including call set up, end user training, troubleshooting and follow through on escalation of trouble incidents including those occurring during a call.
Managing integration projects including equipment ordering, vendor negotiations, testing, troubleshooting, installation, and implementation of upgrades.
Install small or portable VC and non-integrated AV Hardware (ability to lift 50lbs)
Reporting on project status, capacity planning, inventory management and metrics, as well as generating any other reports requested by the client and management.
Attend meetings as required and interact regularly with management and clients to constantly improve services.
Lead or assist, with the support (hands-on if necessary) of special events, high profile senior executive meetings, and town hall meetings requiring Teleconferencing.
Troubleshoot, assess and coordinate VC equipment and systems repair as required.
Create and modify/Update user documentation for standard operation procedures (SOPs) as required.
Update and resolve trouble tickets assigned to Video Support using onsite ticketing system (Service Center)
Recommend measures to improve performance and increase efficiency.
Education:
College degree from accredited university (Bachelor of Science in Engineering or Computer Science preferred). A Technical Certification in Computer Science or related telecommunications field also acceptable.
Technical
2-5 years experience in video conferencing (VC) and audio visual (AV) support, including back-end Polycom infrastructure (VBP Border Proxy, Gatekeeper, Bridge).
AT&T Managed Telepresence Service a plus
AT&T Vendor Management / Escalation abilities
Knowledge of high capacity circuits ISDN, PRI, BRI
Cisco Call Manager Experience a plus
