Strong preference for CCNP, CCIE, RHCE, RHCSS. Experience w/Financial services is ideal. Our client is seeking an outstanding candidate to be their senior Network Engineer/UNIX System Administrator. This position will require you to design and implement our client's infrastructure. Limited travel is expected. RESPONSIBILITIES:Performs project analysis as well as technology design, implementation and testing for projects. These projects may include specialized security review, build-out, and best practice reviews. Install, maintain and troubleshoot the following: networks, Servers, workstations, network-based storage hardware and software, as well as internal hardware and software. Effectively respond to system problems that occur by analysing the impact, taking logical corrective steps, and effectively communicating and documenting the status. Analyze business needs along with design, install, and support infrastructure solutions on one or multiple platforms. Develop technical knowledge. Remain aware of current technology advancements and bring best practices in areas of expertise. EXPERIENCE:6 years experience with design, implementation, maintenance, and troubleshooting for most of the following: Enterprise network routing & switching (Cisco experience preferred at CCNP/CCDP level) Datacenter network technologies (Load Balancing, multicast, server log parsing) Firewall, VPN & other security technologies (Linux SNORT and Juniper experience preferred) Advanced Linux Administration (custom Kernel tuning, preparing specialized builds) Microsoft Windows Servers & workstations (AD integration of UNIX) SAN/NAS systems (Fiber Channel concepts, UNIX Virtualization via SAN) Knowledge of Network Architectures and Financial networks is a plus. Comfortable working in a small team environment with the ability to balance multiple tasks at the same time. Independent and creative when troubleshooting minor to critical issues. Excellent interpersonal and customer facing skills. Ability to adapt work habits to a specified methodology. Experience with financial service environments, banking vendors, data feeds are a significant plus, as are technical certifications (CCNP, CCIE, RHCE, RHCSS).
