Cook County Health and Hospital Systems JOB SUMMARY: Designs, develops and maintains interface programs using interface engine technology and HL7 standards.Creates detailed specification documents.Ensures a robust and reliable open engine application in a UNIX/AIX environment. Coordinates and executes test plans. Automates processes using software tools and scripts Manages system enhancements and upgrades. Experience: · Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor’s Degree in computer science, computer information or engineering is preferred. · Five (5) years experience in information technology implementations is required. · Two (2) years experience using programming and system design is required. · Two (2) years experience using UNIX, Oracle Pl/SQL or SQL and/or relational data is required. · Two (2) years experience using engines such as Cloverleaf, Openlink, Datagate, Egate, SyncSort, FileAid utilities or Open Engine is required. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES AND OTHER CHARACTERISTICS: Thorough knowledge of institutional and departmental systems and processes, both automated and manual; knowledge and understanding of how data flows between systems and ability to use this knowledge to improve current systems and or develop new systems. Ability to serve as project manager and direct monitor and evaluate staff when appropriate. Ability to support/train less experienced personnel in the uses of systems. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Excellent written and verbal communication sills. Ability to program in Java, Java Script and/or C language.
