SHORT SCOOP: This person is responsible for peak performance of our client's software and systems. Needs to have 3+ years of Linux Administration as well as experience with Perl, Shell Scripting, TCP/IP, security and coming from the trading industry. RESPONSIBILITIES: Responsible for systems software - Install, maintain, support and timely back ups of the system. Provides direction for junior members of the team. Experience with installation of new application software, lead upgrades and conversions. Troubleshoot issues - experience with system monitoring and tuning concepts and tools is required. Experience with system security policies and enforcement of them. Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities 3+ years experience Linux Administration Trading environment experience is mandatory. Working knowledge of Perl, Python, and PHP, experienced with Shell script writing TCP/IP Networking concepts. Monitor Security though sound methods. Experienced with Wireshark. Storage management. Desirable: C, C++, or Java. Excellent communication skills, both written and oral. Solid troubleshooting skills. Educational/Experience Degreed in Computer Science or a related field.Financial markets industry experience required.
