We have been asked to identify a Java Developer in our Chicago clients downtown office. Here you will be responsible for the design and development of Front Office applications. You will also be responsible for refactoring, cleanup, and optimization of various project sub-systems. The position will involve working with the development manager, business analysts, project managers and other developers and will involve support for clients. RESPONSIBILITIES. Development and support of applications within the J2EE framework. Analyze, design, propose, and implement changes to new or existing applications. Code consolidation, cleanup, performance tuning, and query optimization. Ability to work with project manager, business analysts and users to turn requirements into programs. Assist with support and maintenance. Ability to analyze a situation and recommend solutions utilizing industry knowledge and technical skills. REQUIRED SKILLS. 10+ years professional experience. Brokerage Industry experience. 7+ years of experience with JAVA/J2EE based application debugging and profiling. 7+ years Object Oriented development including 2+ years of C++ development experience. 5 years of experience with Stored procedures and triggers using Oracle or SQL Server. 5 years of SQL query writing experience. 5+ year of Unix or Linux background. Experience with applying design patterns and architectural considerations. Understanding of RDBMS principles, database design and normalization. Working knowledge with IDE, development tools such as Eclipse and RAD. Working knowledge with Source Control Versioning Systems, such as VSS and Subversion. Previous experience supporting and functioning as a liaison to end users.
