Description:
Responsible for managing the operations of the technology infrastructure and/or computer center. Ensures the operation is in accordance with established procedures and practices. Monitors performance of computing equipment, coordinates equipment installation and delivery schedules. Identifies requirements for infrastructure and operation expansion based on current and projected activity.

Responsibilities

- Plan and direct optimum utilization of computer equipment, associated hardware computer operations staff to meet the Company's objectives.
- Direct the preparation and execution of computer systems operations production procedures.
- Develop and manage to Key Performance Indicators.
- Plan, schedule and supervise around the clock technology operations including emergency situations requiring the manager's attention after normal business hours to ensure continual computer operations.
- Review operating key performance indicators of computer systems operations resources utilization and performance.
C- ommunicate regularly with senior management to report on operations performance.
- Maintain open communications with user management to keep them appraised of operational situations that impact or may impact their respective areas.
- Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders inside and outside National Network Operations.
- Establish and maintain appropriate quality control systems for the validation of data input and output.
- Responsible for data processing supplies inventory and procurement.
- Maintain and schedule satisfactory equipment maintenance.
- Coordinate, schedule and plan the installation of equipment.
- Monitor workload of staff to ensure team members are consistently managed and challenged
- Play significant role in performance management, either overseeing or actually writing appraisals, giving feedback and helping staff design their career development plans
- Actively participate in HR performance measurement processes
- Promote effective teamwork and manage the resolution of interpersonal issues
- Identify ways to share resources across business services / processes to promote information sharing and career / skill development through job rotation
- Define staffing plans and oversee recruiting process to achieve goals
- Implement communication and knowledge sharing process for team members
- Refine and enhance technology methodologies and/or standards
-Ensure documentation is captured in a document management system; publicize deliverable location to the organization as necessary

Qualifications

- College degree in related technical / business areas or equivalent work experience
- 7 to 10 years of relevant professional work experience. Requires 5+ years prior management experience
- 6 to 10 years experience in a large environment -- 100+ machines -- required with: Sun Solaris UNIX, EMC Stoage, Veritage Storage Foundation, Storage Area Networks (SAN), Setup, Configure & Support UNIX Servers
- Excellent problem solving/analytical skills and knowledge of analytical tools
- Current technical certifications relevant to system infrastructure within scope desirable
