Description:

Job Responsibilities:
Responsible for the design and engineering for the IT infrastructure including UNIX servers, storage, Storage Area Networks (SAN) and backups. Align business requirements with server and storage architecture and design principles. Engineer the server and storage environment to meet application and business requirements. Develop infrastructure solutions utilizing industry best practices to ensure maximum flexibility, to meet dynamic business needs and cost objectives. Perform quality tests on configured/developed environments.


Work Process Responsibilities:
? Ensure Solutions Fit With IT Strategy, Policies, Guidelines and Other IT Standards
? Obtain Approvals through Gate Review Process
? Document/Present Project Objectives/Scope/Estimated Costs/Schedule for Approval
? Recommend Key Decisions/Options for Infrastructure Components, Work Process Design And Data Definitions Based on Configuration Choices included in Software Package(s) and According to IT Strategies, Architecture and Policies
? Document As Is Key Decisions To Understand Change Parameters
? Re-estimate Project Costs/Benefits/Schedule Based on Key Decisions
? Document and Obtain Gate Approval for Business Requirements
? Document As Is Logical and Physical Work Processes and Data Definitions To Understand Business Changes
? Perform Unit Testing to Ensure Results Are Consistent with Logical and Physical Design
? Document and Obtain Approval Per Gate Review Requirements
? Develop Integrated Systems Test Plan
? Integrate Audit Testing/Review Plan Into Overall Test
? Perform Integrated Systems Test
? Review/Incorporate Test Results Into the Design/Configuration
? Transfer Knowledge and/or Staff to Implementation Team
? Obtain Gate Approval for Completion of Design and Configuration


Experience: Common Job Skills Required:
- Unix operating systems (Linux and Solaris), Sun servers, Veritas Storage Foundation and Netbackup.
- Storage, SAN technologies and management including EMC, HDS, McDATA , Qlogic, Emulex
- Strong overall Infrastructure knowledge
- Solid understanding of business and engineering applications as they relate to the infrastructure environment
- Strong Performance and Tuning Knowledge
- IT Disaster/Recovery and Business Continuity Planning
