Description:
POS Architect at the Senior Consultant level. Need experienced point-of-sale software, hardware peripherals, and POS integration leads for supporting clients' sales, proposals and project management activities.

Locations: Chicago, Dallas, Charlotte, NYC, Orange County, Atlanta (preferrably)

Responsibilities:
- Responsible for defining the overall system architecture and high-level design
- Engage with prospective clients to understand their architectural needs and gather technical requirements
- Assist project team management with technical project planning, including overseeing system design, development, and quality assurance.
- Discover and plug technical, product, data, and business requirement holes through coordination with multiple groups
- Support POS proposal and sales opportunities
- Continually evaluate strategic products and solutions and make buy vs. build decisions and communicate findings to executive management

Previous Experience:
- POS lead role either at Retailer or as a consultant working with 2-3 large retailers
- Global systems integration project experience, preferably 360Commerce, Compris or IBM
- Proven ability to present to and interact with customers, displaying confidence and the expertise to make product decisions, to develop project plans, and to meet project deadlines
- Demonstrated ability to solve moderate to complex application problems independently
- Proven technical skills in analysis and design for complex systems

Requirements:
- Seven or more years of proven technical leadership experience and skills in technical analysis and implementation of enterprise software solutions
- Four or more years of J2EE and Web Technology experience, application/web servers, and distributed systems
- Four or more years of system modeling and strong design skills
- Two or more years of consulting or direct customer interface experience
- Requires the following technical skills: EJB, J2EE, RMI, XML, JDBC, SQL, Web technologies such as JSP, servlets, struts, and Apache Tomcat
- Experience with POS hardware (eg. NCR, Panasonic, IBM or like)
- Use or knowledge of Association of Retail Technology Standards (ARTS) preferred
- Effective written and verbal communication skills required in this Postion
- BS in Computer Science preferred or equivalent experience
