Business Analyst - Peoplesoft in Chicago, IL
Functions as an internal liaison to implement PeopleSoft modules, specifically benefits administration. Documents user requirements and streamlines processes. Writes procedures for implementation of Peoplesoft modules. Reviews and analyzes operations procedures, processes, and problems to identify areas for improved workflow or automation. Reviews workflow to evaluate effectiveness and proposes system changes to improve productivity. Identifies and assesses skills and needs of staff to implement new system changes; facilitates the staff's ability to cope with change through appropriate training design.
Experience Required: 3-5 years experience in an HRIS environment, with specific knowledge of Peoplesoft.
Knowledge/Skills:
In depth knowledge of day to day operations in an HRIS environment.
Specific knowledge of Peoplesoft modules, specifically benefits administration, is required.
Knowledge of system capabilities, usually acquired through formal training or experience, is required to assess automation possibilities.
Advanced analytical skills are required to evaluate effectiveness of processes.
Negotiation and persuasion skills are required to work with partners and implement changes.
Organizational skills are required to develop and monitor project plans.
Proven experience implementing payroll systems is required, as is knowledge of Peoplesoft.
Ability to work under tight deadlines, handling multiple assignments simultaneously is essential.
Strong business acumen and ability to interact with all levels within the organization is essential.
Strong oral and written communications skills are required.
Superb technical aptitude to include a strong working knowledge of popular software packages.
Knowledge of mainframe applications and program coding is a plus.
Major Duties:
Identifies and assesses user needs and documents requirements. Develops process flow maps to streamline processes and procedures. Develops project plans and functions as project leader for systems implementations. Assess needs of users to implement new system changes.
Assesses and analyzes impact of proposed changes on workflow and on staff. Designs and develops documentation to support changes.
Interacts with staff in systems and operations to formulate and implement solutions to improve processing. Identifies impact of changes and processes on staff; facilitates acceptance of change through training and communication.
Reviews documents, existing procedures, and processes and recommends where automation or improved processes can be implemented. Designs/develops new procedures when appropriate.
Investigates and identifies root causes of errors. Re-engineers processes to ensure that client needs are met and efficient processes are in place.
Designs screens and reports to meet skill level needs of staff and designs forms and documents to assist and facilitate workflow.
Determines business requirements and prepares feasibility and cost effectiveness proposals. Develops management information reports regarding the operations of the area.
Writes proposals for system changes and enhancements. Creates and writes procedures for manual workflow or system changes for a work area.
Periodically reviews work for accuracy, and ensures that operations adhere to client specifications. Communicates to staff errors uncovered or processes in need of improvement and directs staff on appropriate action.
Maintains technical knowledge of operations and how operation relates to other areas in the bank.
Provides hands-on-training for new staff and on-going training of experienced staff.
