e-Business Channel Manager in Chicago, IL
Coordinates and manages complex, cross-functional Internet-based project plans and teams working with multiple business units and divisions. The scope of this position will include managing a matrixed team of individuals involved in one or more of the following areas; Internet system development or enhancements; web-site content and application development and/or or Internet channel, marketing and customer segment management.
This position will typically have 2 or more direct reports and will be responsible for the overall management and delivery of these projects. Position may also be responsible for driving business targets and sales for the channel and for the Internet customer experience of large numbers of customers. Position may directly manage teams in multi-locations and in different countries.
Work closely with senior e-Business management and assigned business units to identify strategic vision for Internet systems and web-based development. Identify opportunities to manage for value by increasing revenue or decreasing costs. Serve as e-Business planning consultant to other areas of the Company as required providing recommendations and options for the technology needs for assigned business units. Work with senior e-Business management and Business units to prioritize site and/or system improvements based on potential for increasing cross-sell, acquiring new customers and/or decreasing costs.
Work with a defined business unit and/or multiple areas of the Company, to develop detailed functional and technical specification documents and project plans for assigned e-Business projects. This may also include working with web design personnel to develop and enhance web-site functionality, content and applications. Monitor and manage detailed, various concurrent project plans that culminate in the delivery of end to end Internet based solutions for assigned business units. Lead the coordination of projects for the assigned team, ensuring project, compliance and regulatory standards are followed at all times and projects are completed in a timely, cost-effective manner. Ensure operational risks are identified and pro-actively managed to ensure risks are minimized.
Work closely with senior e-Business management with respect to third party vendor management, evaluation and implementation of application service providers and governance of eBusiness methodologies and standards. Responsible for agreed to service level agreements, crisis management and disaster recovery. Work closely with Senior e-Business management to develop, monitor and manage budgets and costs. Manage resource allocation, charge back and billing packet reconciliation and overall operational plan execution.
Identify enhancement opportunities for the Internet channel of assigned businesses to respond to changing market, customer service and technological conditions. Research and prioritize alternatives, prepare business cases for management approval and coordinate implementation of those approved. Prepare applicable clear choice documents when consulting on new opportunities, projects, or initiatives.
In addition to the above, working in conjunction with Corporate Marketing, develop and support marketing plans that drive penetration of Internet systems and cross-sell of appropriate products and services through the Internet channel as required. Review secondary research and conduct appropriate primary research including online satisfaction surveys and offline focus groups to ascertain audience needs, and objectives, test the usability of the web-site and Internet systems, and determine appropriate courses of action. Measure and analyze web site and operational statistics to evaluate effectiveness of the web-site.
Ensure that appropriate metrics are in place to measure effectiveness of systems, web-site applications and/or marketing campaigns as required. Provide management direction to foster effective selection, development and reward of subordinates, while contributing to initiatives in support of the Diversity Programs. Ensure compliance monitoring is in place, including processes for management of operational risk, in accordance with HSBC and regulatory standards. Complete other related duties as assigned.
