Prestigious Fortune 500 Company located in Chicagos Loop is currently seeking a Senior LAN to LAN Architect. Candidates will be responsible for a large LAN/WAN/WLAN network consisting primarily of Cisco routers, switches and access points, Cisco and Check Point firewalls, and associated equipment from several other vendors.
Experience: Responsibilities:
Installation, configuration and ongoing monitoring of equipment using CiscoWorks, SolarWinds and SNMP scripts.
Works with service providers on WAN and Internet connectivity.
Handles major projects from start to finish, including developing network designs based on user requirements, network diagrams using Visio, configurations and full implementation follow-through and documentation.

Requirements:
8+ years LAN/WAN experience configuring Cisco routers and switches running IOS and CatOS.
Experience with Cisco and Check Point firewalls and Cisco wireless access points.
Thorough background in TCP/IP routing protocols including RIPv2, EIGRP, OSPF and BGP and experience with IP multicast.
Excellent troubleshooting skills and experience with Network General Sniffers or other protocol analyzers.
Excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills.
Educational requirements include a Bachelors degree in Computer Science or equivalent.
Preferred Skills and Experience:
Experience with F5 load balancers is a plus.
Familiarity with UNIX operating systems and network applications such as NFS, NIS, DNS and SMTP is a plus.
