Job Description:
Under general supervision, monitors, and maintains hardware, and software on computing platforms. Configures, assembles and installs Wintel/Unix servers and/or peripheral equipment. Performs first line support for service interruptions such as printer routings, power outages, wiring problems, and malfunctioning servers. Escalates unresolved problems to expedite resolution. Upgrades, modifies and replaces server hardware, components. Monitors system performance, gathers data, and prepares management reports. Audits hardware/software inventory to ensure their integrity as well as licensing compliance. Updates and maintains site administration manual documentation. Keeps abreast of emerging operational support technologies and industry trends.
Candidate should have 3-5 years HP server hardware experience in racking, troubleshooting, and upgrading.
Windows NT4, 2000, and 2003 support experience with some rollouts under their belt.
Experience managing sites remotely.
Active directory and NT4 domain management background.
Must be able to work either the 7am - 3pm shift or the 11am - 7pm shift with lots of overtime required.
2 weekends a month of onsite support for patching, rollouts etc.
Oncall support is required overnight for a week at a time and must be available to come in if necessary.
