Our Chicago-Loop based client currently seeks a Unix/Sybase Developer with Perl experience for a 1 year project engagement.

REQUIREMENTS:

Strong Unix, Sybase and Perl experience. Any Oracle helpful.

Will be writing, modifying and tuning Unix scripts and Sybase stored procedures. Conversion of a Sybase database to Oracle is a possibility.

Will develop custom integration to vended product building direct DB integration using stored procedures on Sybase. Developing batch Unix shell scripts that extract, validate, map format and import data from various sources into Investment Management Systems.

Skills required include:
- UNIX shell scripting (KSH, BASH) (Strong)
- SQL (Sybase) stored procedure development (Strong)
- PERL Scripting (Familiar)

Requires ability to work in a larger team context, taking responsibility for small projects in total, and for major deliverables within larger contexts.

Requires ability to work (detailed design/code) within an existing code framework, extending the framework as needed at the direction of the architect. This includes scripts.

Requires the ablity to propose design alternatives.
