Ajilon Consulting has an opening in Chicago for a for a Business Analyst for a 6 month contract, possibly longer. This individual will have the opportunity to work with a leading global financial services firm with assets of $2 trillion. Working under the direction of the application development manager, the business analyst senior leads large size project efforts and tasks, and participates in large, complex efforts. Business analyst senior is responsible for producing documentation relating to business, operational, and technical tasks. Interacting with internal customers, the business analyst senior works to solve complex issues understands and participates in project planning and estimating. Knowledge of Treasury Services business is required - especially credit card and information management. Position will pay $40.00/hr W-2.
. Identify, assess and record business needs, recommending business priorities, and advising business on options, risks, and costs versus benefits
. Helps shape the vision of longer-term requirements
. Communicates business priorities to the technology development teams in order to drive effective business solutions
. Facilitates requirements and design sessions with business and IT
. Researches to determine if solutions to business needs currently exist within or outside the business unit, and if not, whether new solutions are feasible
. Documents business and functional requirements, and communicates these requirements to the development team for design and implementation of business solutions
. Provides, as needed, input to the development of formal business cases
. Working knowledge of Data processes around Extract, Transform and Load processes and SQL development concepts
. Ensures with the Quality Assurance team that requirements can be easily translated into test plans
. Provides input to buy vs. build decision based on input received from the business and other areas with IT
. Contributes to continuous improvement and proactively supports knowledge sharing within the team and across IT
. Manages day to day individual workload, as well as the workload of other analysts on the team, monitors milestones and critical dates to identify potential jeopardy of schedule and identify / mitigate risk
. Contributes to defining project scope
. Identifies and engages key downstream IT partners
. Participates in QA/UAT defect resolution to completeness

Qualifications:
. Bachelor's degree (or equivalent work experience or specialized training) in Information Technology (IT), Computer Science (CS), Software Engineering, or related discipline.
. Minimum of 5 years relevant project delivery and process management experience
. Experience using a structured software development methodology in a large corporate or consulting environment.
. Excellent written and oral communication skills. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
. Experience conducting business requirement sessions and producing business and/or technical functional documentation
. Ability to work independently as a self-starter, and within a team environment.
. Experience using IBM/Rational ClearCase/ClearQuest is a plus.
. Experience with code coverage tools is a plus.
. Banking and/or financial services industry experience a plus.
