Overview:

Responsible for handling the most difficult system performance issues, this position will work directly with clients to diagnose and resolve issues impacting speed and performance of the TouchWorks application. Senior Consultants will also perform regular health checks of client systems in preparation for upgrades, producing reports and making recommendations for client system improvement.



Consultants will travel often (about 50%) and need to be located near a major airport. Consultants also must establish immediate credibility with clients, teach clients best practices in network/server optimization and specify maintenance requirements to keep client systems working at a high level of speed and reliability. 20% of the job will be spent writing scripts and utilities that automatically implement best-practice based solutions. The experience learned in the field will be translated to all customers.



Responsibilities:

- Work directly with clients to resolve performance issues impacting TouchWorks EHR

- Perform regular reviews of client systems to identify areas of opportunity for system performance or areas of non-compliance with the TouchWorks System Environment Specification document.

- Produce and deliver reports to the client.

- Engage in direct client interaction to address any questions clients may have

- Lead and/or support performance engagements at key clients.

- Identify and resolve technical issues to optimize performance of the EHR

- Debrief and educate clients on best practices and proper maintenance to ensure proper system speed.

- Write and implement scripts that automate the performance compliance of the TouchWorks product.



Qualifications:

- Ability to perform a combination of lead and supporting technical roles in multiple simultaneous projects

- Microsoft certification (MCSE) and Cisco certifications (CCNP or CCNE)



4+ years experience in most of the following technologies:

- Microsoft server operating systems and application servers (Windows 2003 Server, IIS 6.0, SQL Server 2000/2005)

- Microsoft infrastructure support applications such as ADS, DNS, FRS

- Microsoft clustering technologies

- Load testing and analysis skills, performance management tools; packet sniffers, bandwidth analyzers, NetMon, etc.

- Microsoft .NET web application configuration and deployment

- Layer-3 switched networking technologies and other related technologies (VLAN, HSRP, spanning tree, etc)

- Firewall and other network security technologies

- Routing technologies including WAN Routing Protocols such as BGP, OSPF and EIGRP

- Hardware and software load balancing

- Common network-based services such as LDAP, DNS, SNMP, SMTP, etc. - Storage Area Networking (SAN) and Network Attached Storage (NAS)

- Application and SLA monitoring and reporting

- SourceSafe

- VBScript, WMI, Windows Shell programming experience.
