Interface Engineer in Chicago, IL

Overview:
The Interface Engineer will code, maintain and implement interfaces and services with our customers backend systems. You will be working with interfaces using HL7 formats, XML data feeds and developing XSLTs to meet customer requirements. You will also be working closely with developing and utilizing SQL stored procedures with our interface and transactional databases. You will also be assisting with the development and maintenance of Windows 2003 services written in C#.
Responsibilities:
- Monitoring and updating existing back-end B2B systems used to exchange data with customer systems
- Code and deploy new interfaces to customer systems
- Analyze and resolve problems with existing interfaces to customer systems
- Design, build and implement tools to monitor availability and performance of B2B systems
- Identify the need for and selected 3rd party products for use
- Develop and maintain Windows services
Requirements:
- 1+ years C# or VB.Net
- 1+ years SQL
- 1+ years XML and XSLT
- Possess the ability to work independently and be self-motivated.
- Strong sense of ownership and good follow through skills required.
- Strong organizational, troubleshooting and problem solving skills required.
- Ability to work consistently without requiring constant supervision and take initiative to generate new ideas to improve department operations.
- Strong analytical skills to facilitate code design and impact analysis.
- Excellent organizational skills with an attention for detail and ability to handle and prioritize multiple tasks at the same time.
- Must have a good sense of humor, patience and a positive attitude.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Must be able to work after hours including nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Programming Skills including C#, ASP.NET, SQL Server and XML/XSLT/XSDs.
- Strong unit testing knowledge and skills.
- Ability to manage multiple/demanding tasks is required
- Willingness to learn
- Must have high energy level, positive attitude, and strong work ethic.
Desirable Skills:
- .NET / C#
- TCP/IP
- HL7
- Prior EDI or B2B experience particularly BizTalk, CloverLeaf, MasterChart IP, etc.
