DIRECTOR, RESOURCE MANAGEMENT in Chicago, IL
Job Summary
This position is accountable for ensuring that the various IT organizations are staffed with the right caliber and mix of resources to deliver the IT work plan. This position is responsible for the end-to-end talent management of CNA employees and a key contributor to the creation and execution of the overall sourcing plan.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
1. Responsible for vendor management activities for contractors. Works with IT leadership and the Vendor Management Office to ensure day-to-day execution of contractor staffing.
2. Participate in establishing key operational metrics. Manages staffing, performance management and development processes to achieve these objectives.
May perform additional duties as assigned.
Reporting Relationship
Typically AVP or above.
Skills, Knowledge & Abilities
1. IT strategy formulation
2. System development or business strategy or solution design or service management life cycle
3. Understanding of theInfrastructure Engineeringdevelopment process.
4. Vendor/contract management
5. Relationship management - build strong working relationships at all levels of the organization; team with other managers to deliver results
6. Project management with special attention to risk management and ability to recognize and escalate issues and opportunities
7. Working knowledge of CNA and industry skill trends
8. Leadership ability especially in developing talent, teamwork and collaboration, and driving for results
9. Performance management - performance planning, coaching, mentoring, developing talent, attracting and retaining talent
10. Strong working knowedge of resource planning, supply utilization, supply/demand process, and the teamplay application
11. Knowledge of organizational change management and the ability to drive change across teams and departments
Education & Experience
1. Bachelor's degree in a related discipline or equivalent.
2. Typically five to eight years of progressive management experience managing large, diverse teams.
3. Typically 3 to 5 years of IT Infrastructure Engineering leadership.
