Robert Half Technology is looking for a UNIX Systems Administrator to be responsible for basic administration, system installation/configuration, and security and installation of 3rd party software. This UNIX Systems Administrator role requires strong analytical and problem solving skills, flexibility and open-mindedness. A demonstrated ability to pay attention to details and
strong inter-personal and communication skills are required. Administrator must be capable of writing purchase justifications, training users in complex topics, making presentations to an internal audience, and interacting positively with upper management. Experience: Four plus years UNIX systems administration experience in large financial services or trading industry environments of 500 servers, 1000 users, and 10 terabytes of disk storage required. Strong knowledge and experience in UNIX scripting, automation, and architecture in large production server environments from the design phase on required. Candidates must possess thorough knowledge and understanding of UNIX characteristics and limitations, including standard daemons, protocols, and applications. Knowledge of UNIX system/network performance issues, plateaus, and solutions and knowledge of IP networking concepts required.
