We have an immediate need for a QA Engineer JOB DESCRIPTION Job Description: Job Description: The individual in this role will be responsible for testing sophisticated, highly scalable and multi tiered applications for a trading group. This hands on role will work on high performance infrastructure and client libraries. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: - Develop and maintain test scripts and test cases for all applications and services released by development - Work closely with current in-house C++ library code base - Work closely with the QA Lead to optimize testing process - Coordinate and build test harnesses and scripts for automated testing - Discover and investigate reported software bugs - Work with developers and traders to identify testing needs for trading system - Manage multiple testing projects and scheduling of testing efforts - Develop and maintain quality metrics KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS - 2+ Years of C++ programming experience - 2+ Years of testing financial trading systems - Excellent written and verbal communication skills - Detailed oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving skills - Computer programming skills using C++ in a Linux environment - Experienced in developing test scripts and harnesses using Perl or equivalent - Experienced with Multithreaded programming - Proven track record in quality assurance working with large, complex software applications with high performance, scalability, & reliability demands - Clear understanding of basic software development and testing processes - Confident team player motivated by a fast-paced environment - Bachelor degree in Computer Science or Engineering, or equivalent. EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE: - Financial industry experience required - Bachelors degree in Computer Science or other technical field of study - 2+ years experience of testing financial trading systems - 4+ years experience working in a software development environment - Experience working with order entry systems and policies and procedures of various exchanges. - Previous experience with TCP/IP networking in a Linux or Unix environment - Minimum 2-3 years experience administering proprietary applications in a Linux / Windows environment - Experience supporting proprietary developed applications - Previous scripting experience with Bash and Perl - Minimum of 2-3 years of IT or application support experience working in financial services or electronic trading environment.
