We re in search of an experienced Sr. SAS Programmer Analyst to join our client for a contract opportunity. This will potentially CTH, but for now contract with a strong chance of transitioning perm. Job Description: Develop systems to extract data from various source files and/or internal generalized systems and databases, and transform these data for use in system databases, and for delivery to internal and external clients. Lead in developing technical requirements, design, and data flows for file, edit, and transformation tasks. In a team situation, s/he will have a leadership role and the responsibility for reviewing and directing the work of other programmers on the team, prepare resource estimates, and manage team assignments. Work closely with the technical project manager and clients to develop plans, schedules, and priorities and will concentrate on all technical aspects of the project. May work under very limited supervision. Is expected to take an active role in developing departmental policies and procedures. Required Experience/Skills: B.S. in information technology or related field (Master s degree is preferred), At least five years of progressively responsible experience with SAS, including complex data step and macro programming and Proc SQL required. Experience with data editing and cleaning, documentation of programs and procedures, efficient coding to deal with large quantities of data, building repeatable processes, and developing applications that integrate across multiple systems. MS SQL experience is desired. Exposure to data transformation (eg VB Script/DTS) or string-manipulation Scripting languages is preferred. Experience with formal testing processes a definite plus. Candidate must have strong analytical skills as well as strong communication skills and desire to work in a team environment. Familiarity in questionnaire data development in social science or marketing research is very desirable. Successful candidates are detail oriented, organized, and can juggle multiple tasks/projects with a minimum of supervision.
