Resource 1 is in need of a Core Java Developer for a 12 month contract (possible contract for hire) located in downtown Chicago, IL. Experience developing Java based applications using Core Java programming skills. Programming skills required include Core Java/J2SE. Proficiency in Unix/Linux environments and knowledge of threads and collections, multi-threading, and core API's are key qualifications. Experience with Oracle or DB2 is required including the use of SQL for creating stored procedures, triggers, functions, etc. Experience with data retrieval or data parsing systems that use messaging specifications is preferred. Strong ability to learn existing applications quickly and to be able to make modifications to them. Ability to work independently and be a team player. Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and written.
