Description Our client one of the largest commercial, property & casualty insurers in the US is seeking a Storage/Unix EngineerContract position6 monthsDaily Tasks Daily storage engineering and Unix engineering operational tasks including: On-call support; storage provisioning, backup troubleshooting, system software upgrades, customer engineering inquiries Required Technical Skills Storage Engineering skill requirements: ? Extensive knowledge of Networker backup software including upgrades, EMC EDL tape library support and on call backup support. ? EMC storage frame support for DMX, Clarion, Celerra and Centera including; storage provisioning, zoning, masking, Power Path software and trouble shooting. ? Extensive knowledge of CISCO SAN hardware and Fabric Manager Software. ? Support for Disaster Recovery including SRDF, Cloning and Recover Point knowledge. ? Knowledge of Scripting utilities to support existing processes and to develop new. Unix Engineering skill requirements: ? Extensive knowledge of AIX (5.1 and above features). ? Knowledge of Power4, Power5, and Power6 hardware. ? Solid understanding of Networking, NIM, Patching, VIOs, GPFS, Active Directory (AD) Authentication ? Solid HACMP knowledge. ? Perl & Shell script writing experience. ? Veritas for AIX & Solaris. ? Disk Multipathing knowledge (MPIO, Powerpath, etc). ? Experience with NMON and other performance specific tools/commands. ? Good understanding of HP OS (10.20, 11, 11i, on K/A/N/L hardware). ? Good understanding of SUN OS (Solaris 8 on Netra/220/280/Utlra hardware). Additional Qualities: Worked for large internal IT organization. Experience with Change control processes. On-call experience
