Resource 1 is looking for a IBM Mainframe COBOL Programmer for a 6 month contract located in downtown Chicago, IL. This candidate must have extensive experience in writing, testing and implementing programs within a very short timeframe. Have over 5 years in COBOL, JCL, TSO/ISPF, DB2, Abend Aid, File Aid, Xpediter, & Changeman. Need a developer background, not QA. Also need, at least 5+ years of SQL with an in-depth understanding of complex multi-table structures and be able to performance tune SQL statements to run efficiently. - Strong JCL/COBOL skills required- Proficient in DB2- Proficient in SQL- Proficient in CHANGEMAN- Experience being involved in all phases of both the Software Development Life Cycle as well as QA and Testing Life Cycles.- Financial Industry experience and experience within the Trading Industry is highly desired.- Excellent communication skills.
