Resource 1 is in need of a RedHat Certified Linux Engineer (RHCE) for a 6 month contract for hire opportunity in Chicago, IL. Will perform hardware system staging for Linux environments and interfaces directly with the Datacenter Infrastructure, Enterprise Technology Production Assurance, and Networking departments. Group responsibilities include: Manages the server fleet installs patches, installs device drivers, installs third party software, and configures network interfaces Performs hardware troubleshooting, manages spare part inventory, opens trouble tickets, and schedules hardware repairs/service calls Responsible for hardware inventory, database inventory updates, hardware migrations, and removal of end-of-life hardware Responsible for the configuration, testing, implementation, and troubleshooting of Linux systems including web services, FTP services, E-Mail, and DNS Coordinates Production environment changes The candidate that we are looking for would have a specialized focus on patching and have a deep understanding of Linux system security. This position will have a focus on security for both Linux O/S and 3rd party software. The candidate must have experience with tracking security vulnerabilities, implementing patches and auditing the Open systems environment. RedHate Certified Engineer (RHCE) is required.
