A successful candidate will be responsible for administering, building, maintaining, and optimizing databases. Key Skills and Responsibilities Ongoing support and administration of existing production, staging, QA and development database environments. Configure and tune database Servers for best sustainable performance. Review SQL code and implement all changes to the development and production databases. Work with development teams to optimize SQL queries used in client applications. Provide database expertise to the software development teams. Job Requirements Expert Level Experience installing, configuring and maintaining Microsoft SQL Server 2005/2008 Have worked with at least at terabyte of Data and at least 60 production Servers Thorough understanding of relational database/schema design, SQL queries and query optimization, and stored procedure development Strong skills in optimizing and tuning Databases and Queries and Windows clustering Experience working with different database platforms (SQLServer, PostgreSQL, mySQL, etc.) Ability to manage multiple, simultaneous issues Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Development background a plus Experience in a financial markets environment a plus Bachelor of Science degree or equivalent education and work experience is required 7+ years of experience working with SQL Server
