Director, Web Properties in Chicago, IL
The Director of Web Properties will collaborate closely with the web, marketing, sales, practice and IT organizations to deliver a world class global website and applications with an industry leading user experience. The role reports to the Vice President, Global Marketing,
The Director of Web Properties will be responsible for leading customer and internal-facing web projects including leadership of the cross-functional project teams, completion/coordination of the project deliverables and coordination/tracking of the project timelines. The primary project for 2007 is a re-design of Aon's web properties.
Expectations for the role include: leading Aon's internal and external web properties teams to drive optimized performance across various global web sites; managing web programs to drive efficient traffic and conversion; working with colleagues in Aon offices around the globe to ensure effective implementation of their web marketing programs; ensuring consistency of representation of the Aon brand; and keeping all site content accurate and up-to-date.
The ideal candidate is strategic and analytical possessing the ability to see the 'big picture,' prioritizing initiatives accordingly, and has the quantitative skills and metrics knowledge to support decision-making. His/her persuasive written, verbal and presentation skills are superior. He/she thrives in a collaborative team environment, and has the ability to motivate across all levels and functional areas of the company while juggling competing projects, deadlines, and customers. He/she must have an ability to be a cross-functional player, be able to manage internally diverse teams of content owners and external agencies to successful outcomes.
Specific responsibilities include:
- Collaborate/Communicate with senior business, marketing, and IT leadership team
- Collaborate/Communicate with Web design and development team (Producers, Design & Production, IT).
- Understand, prioritize, staff and schedule individual web projects
- Understand and communicate technical and functional requirements
- Guide teams through System Development Lifecycle
- Guide managers through project issue identification, escalation and resolution (functional and technical)
- Report project status to senior level executives
Knowledge and Skills:
- Experience managing multiple business partners and third-party vendors for web-based development
- Experience identifying and prioritizing key project objectives, risks, drivers and dependencies
- Experience creating scoping documents, functional and technical requirements documents, use case documentation, functional and technical specifications, status reports, QA test plans etc
- Experience leading large cross-functional steering committee team meetings
- Strong presentation skills (executive level)
- Exceptional facilitation skills and ability to gain group/team consensus
- Strong interpersonal, analytical, problem-solving and conflict resolution skills
- Strong work ethic; extremely organized and detail oriented
- Experience managing and maintaining project budgets
- Ability to recommend and implement process improvements, policies and best practices
- Demonstrated ability to lead a technically diverse team of individuals in the creation of world class, industry leading products and commercial services
- Experience including strong understanding of marketing, product development, product management and project management
- Strong analytical skills and solid understanding of key metrics that drive top and bottom line
Experience required:
o 10 years of high-profile web project management experience.
o 10 years packaged/custom web application development background.
o Experience formulating project level ROI (capitalized projects a plus).
o Consulting/Professional services background required.
