GMI Support Specialist in Chicago, IL
Our Trading firm client is seeking and AS400 / GMI candidate that provides support for the back-office AS/400 platform and GMI applications as well as custom in-house applications. Professional, communicative, extraverted and responsive customer service attitude and commitment to working in a team environment is essential.
Support and troubleshooting Respond to daily support issues and work with vendor or in house staff to resolve support issues. Also provide after-hours support and troubleshooting for all aspects GMI back office system. This may include weekends and holidays.
AS400 Query's Create and maintain AS400 Querys
GMI Access & Support Provide users access to GMI as appropriate and assist in their use. Support back office and client service areas regarding creating custom developed queries, reports, and apps from GMI data.
Manage GMI implementation and testing Manage and ensure GMI Customer Service Bulletins are tested and implemented properly and in a timely fashion. Manage and ensure GMI annual software distribution is tested and implemented properly and in a timely fashion
Maintain current knowledge Maintain knowledge of current AS/400, IBM, GMI technology developments and trends
GMI Liaison Duties may also include assuming responsibilities of GMI Liaison. These duties include troubleshooting, reporting and resolving GMI software issues. Testing and implement Customer Service Bulletins items. Liaising with GMI of open problem resolution, Support of back office system users.
Experience: Includes prior position, industry or prior behavioral skills (i.e.. demonstrated use of computers, ability to organize, prioritize, etc.)
5 years GMI experience Minimum of 5 years experience with AS/400 and Sungards GMI product.
Professional Communication Strong interpersonal and communication (verbal and written) skills required. Experience working in a professional manner with customers, management and vendors as it relates to back office requirements
Back Office Solid knowledge of back office system software and clearing/regulatory requirements
Programming and AS/400 Query Programming experience with CL and/or OCL strongly preferred, not required. Knowledge of AS400 Query is required.
