SUMMARY:
The Senior Applications Developer will design, develop and maintain software to improve efficiency, reliability and value of Aon Re Services' catastrophe modeling operations.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
-Participate in the entire product development life cycle: from requirement specification, prototyping and development to testing, training and support.
-Design and maintain large databases to interface with multiple catastrophe models and associated in-house automation and analytical tools.
-Interface with risk analysts, actuaries, IT resources and senior management to ensure project requirements are met on time.
QUALIFICATIONS:
-Master's degree in engineering/science/finance/applied math (Bachelor's degree will be considered for exceptional candidates)
-3 years of software development experience (5 years with a Bachelor's degree) in an analytical/quantitative field with expertise in VB.NET, C# or C++, MS Access, SQL Server, ODBC, XML.
-Experience in design and administration of large databases.
- Familiarity with Catastrophe Modeling software such as RiskLink, Clasic/2 and WorldCat will be a plus.
-Experience with ASP.Net, Oracle, MATLAB
-Knowledge of MS-Access, SQL or a programming language.
-Excellent communication skills.
-Must be motivated to work on new and challenging projects.
-Ability to work in a deadline driven, fast paced environment.
