We are currently seeking to fill a Technical Specialist - SQL Server DBA position for our client in Chicago, IL. We invite you to review the position requirements below and apply today if your skills match our need.



Salary: $68,000 - $90,000



Responsibilities:

- Provide database support for the Corporate Microsoft SQL server environments, including configuring and tuning SQL Server instances, applying maintenance, and scheduling backups.

- Monitor production jobs and assist the application develops with application tuning.

- Implement production changes submitted by application developers.

- Will be expected to assist the Lead DBA with defining and implementing SQL server security policy.

- Travel may be required



Qualifications:

- Advanced skills in SQL server configuration, optimization, and maintenance (i.e., backup scheduling, integrity checks, patch installs)

- Strength in both technical and administrative skills. Should be able to both plan and execute maintenance upgrades.

- Experience with replication, clustering, database design, NLB, RAID, Windows NT security, and DTS

- Excellent communication, analytical, problem solving, and interpersonal skills

- Has initiative and is self-disciplined

- Strong change managements skills.

- SQL Server 2005 experience would be desired.

- A minimum of 5 years of technical experience as a SQL Server DBA

- Bachelors degree in Computer Science or related field preferred
