Job Summary
The Manager, Business Consulting, drives the development of innovative strategies and implementable business solutions for clients drawing on appropriate multidisciplinary skills and capabilities within Sapient. For both clients and project teams, the Manager is expected to help frame the business value from technology initiatives and articulate this value to meet the client's business objectives. The Manager should engage comfortably with the full range of Business Consulting tools and methods. Our integrated methodology begins with the development of a robust research and analysis agenda for understanding the business context and setting a clear strategic direction for addressing the client's business challenges. In addition, the Manager should draw upon expertise in other skills including business modeling, change management as well as business process transformation to develop implementable value-additive solutions. The Manager is also expected to contribute to proposal development, client relationships and new business; manage individuals, delivery teams and multiple projects; and engage in thought leadership development. The Manager will work with Business Consulting leadership within their business unit to mentor, coach and guide business consultants and will also leverage the broader metro-area community to begin shaping the way business consulting practitioners understand, represent and execute their work. In performing the essential functions of this role, the work environment is fast-paced, moderately noisy and team based. Additionally, frequent travel is required. The Manager, Business Consulting works under the supervision of a Sr. Manager or Director, Business Consulting.

Managers are expected to demonstrate proficiency in key areas of responsibility: Research and Analysis, Business Modeling, Strategy Development, Business Process Transformation, Change Management, Client Development, People Management, Project Management and Thought Leadership. Essential duties and responsibilities include the following and others as assigned:
Areas of Responsibility:
I. Research & Analysis
* Leads research / analysis for a single work stream of a project (e.g., competitive analysis)
* Leads complex research plan development (identifying research targets and deliverables)
* Incorporates client's base of knowledge into research and analysis conclusions.
* Provides input into development of research and analysis program
* Defines and analyzes industry value chain
* Determines market size and growth, segments customers and identify needs of each segment
* Benchmarks financial results against relevant competitors
* Seeks input from senior team members on the quality of data, analysis and conclusions
* Prepares and conducts interviews with client stakeholders
* For delivery teams: Understands implications of technology and user experience research on business findings and implications
II. Business Modeling
* Shapes modeling and articulates strategic outcomes for clients
* Provides input to team leadership to validate business model assumptions and outcomes
* Prepares discounted cash flow (DCF) financial model
* Explains model assumptions and results to client
* Develops performance metrics to measure success of initiative on ongoing basis
* Is responsible for the development of reliable and feasible business models.
* Develops business case scenarios and analyzes them as a basis for future recommendations
* Ensures quality and accuracy of data within the models

III. Strategy Development
* Leads some aspects of strategy development including areas such as value proposition, competitive advantage, business justifications, etc.
* Identifies strategic options based on solid fact base
* Develops criteria to evaluate strategic options based on solid fact base
* Prioritizes potential options based on solid fact base and guides client through the prioritization
