Quality Assurance Analyst in Chicago, IL
POSITION SUMMARY
The Quality Assurance Analyst provides quality solutions to assigned Quality Assurance projects including providing oversight to testing teams. This position is based in Oakbrook Terrace, IL 60181.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
-Assist in ensuring that a common testing approach is followed throughout the Development and Application Management groups; ensuring that products are not released to production until they have been fully tested.
-Coordinate test team resources to achieve project testing goals.
-Manage testing environments in compliance with established quality principles.
-Manage testing effort and project deliverables within the established commitments, ensuring quality, performance and conformance with established specifications.
-Assist in the execution of all quality assurance efforts for development using testing business analyst and development resources as appropriate.
-Collaborate with business analysts to develop requirements for testability.
-Develop quality assurance test plans that clearly map to and account for defined business requirements.
-Plan, coordinate and schedule test coverage to provide high value during the product release process.
-Collaborate with business analysts and developers to design, establish and execute test strategies and plans in accordance with a common testing approach.
-Perform all types of testing including functional, regression, integration, system, performance and support user acceptance activities.
-Adhere to highest degree of professional standards and strict confidentiality in matters that require discretion.
-Attend professional development and training sessions on a regular basis.
-Perform other job-related duties as necessary.
Experience: QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS
-Some college coursework a plus.
-3-6 years in software quality assurance.
-Excellent communication skills.
-Technical background in object-oriented product development and Internet programming, distributed and client / server computing.
-Appreciation of user-centered design and strong business and customer focus.
-Software testing experience in a complex, real-time system.
-Experience in developing and delivering production quality software.
-Self-motivated and able to deliver to schedules, as well as work with and incorporate input from other areas.
-Proven experience with at least one testing methodology.
-Strong attention to detail.
-Financial and HR systems experience a plus.
-Consulting experience a plus.
-QAI certification a plus.
-Ability to work additional hours as needed.
