E-Learning Specialist in CHICAGO, IL
Robert Half Technology is seeking an eLearning Specialist for a creative college in downtown Chicago. Under the direction of the Web Application Administrator (WAA), the eLearning Specialist is responsible for creating online training for the IRIS administrative portal, Feith Document Database (WebFDD), and other software applications in our web-based learning environment. The eLearning Specialist is also responsible for assisting the WAA with the posting of content on the college’s administrative SharePoint portal (IRIS). This position focuses on eLearning instructional design for employees of the college (staff and faculty) with the exception of training tools for the college’s student portal. The eLearning Specialist also works closely with the Documentation Specialist and the IT Training Coordinator.
Create online training tools for the user community on portals and programs such as IRIS (SharePoint), Feith Document Database, and any other programs for which the IT User Support training team requires assistance. Other requirements include:
Provide appropriate documentation for online training and tutorials.
Assist with posting content on IRIS Administrative Portal/SharePoint. Assist Web Applications Administrator with SharePoint as needed.
Contribute to administrative portal knowledge base.
Write course materials and develop training plans for eLearning.
Create user-centered instructional content.
Assess learner needs and cater to varying degree of abilities.
Provide backup for WAA on SharePoint
Perform any additional tasks that may be required by the WAA.
BS/BA degree
2+ years experience working with online training materials, courses, or tutorials
2+ years experience with Web editing and/or development
Knowledge of SharePoint
Knowledge of web interface design (HTML, DreamWeaver, Photoshop)
Knowledge of instructional design models and methodologies
Knowledge of eLearning tools such as Adobe Captivate or Camtasia
Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office applications
Other duties as assigned
