Our prestigious client, located in downtown Chicago, has a need for a SR Programmer Analyst. A successful candidate will be responsible for the creation and maintenance of software by using the tools, methodologies and processes established to meet the development needs of the organization. The Sr Programmer must be professional, in communication and presentation. This will be a challenging environment and offer new technologies to work on. C# and Java developers welcome. Must have working knowledge of front end and back end development. SQL 2000 / 2005, Sybase, Unix environment. Anyone with Financial Investments background is a plus. Responsibilities include:


Develop sound technical solutions to meet user requirements that consider system capacity, limitations and performance requirements
Support internally developed and vendor applications by resolving time-critical business/technology issues that impact production processes and system availability
Ensure that software enhancements and system fixes meet intended business needs according to defined requirements
Participate in both large and small team developments projects to insure timely delivery of applications
Maintain and follow established Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) methodologies on all project or defect resolutions
Formulate and define system design and objectives based on user requirements
Develop high level and detailed designs for assigned development initiatives
Prepare technical specifications from which application programs will be developed
Review work deliverables at QA checkpoints, including design review and code walk-throughs
Develop and execute QA routines to ensure quality of software
Assist in the planning and deployment of software releases
Support application on off-hours according to established rotation schedule
Inform manager and user community of progress, issues and concerns

Experience: C#.NET or Java
SQL Server
Scripting (UNIX Kornshell or NT Batch) a plus
OS - Windows and UNIX - both are ideal
