Systems/Program Designer in Chicago, IL

Salary: $64,000- $86,000
Responsibilities:
- Analyze, design, and develop new functionality according to business specifications and technical design. Will work closely with business users and project leads to better understand and refine requirements.
- Keep abreast of current and emerging technologies in the area of web development and user experiences.
- Make recommendations for management consideration of emerging technologies and may be asked to prototype those recommendations.
- Will be responsible for defining and documenting technical design of requirements and communicating that design to business owners and developers. Will also participate in user interface design sessions.
- Develop estimates for completion of development tasks and communicate and/or document those estimates for both the business community as well as other team members.
- Prepare and execute unit test scripts.
- Analyse, document and present test results.
- Responsible for ensuring that developed code meets functional requirements prior to meeting with, or presenting to, business users.
Qualifications:
- A minimum of 6 years of applications programming and analysis experience
- A minimum of 4 years experience working in a Microsoft development environment
- Significant Experience in the following technologies: Microsoft Reporting Services; .NET Development; Visual Basic 6 and ASP; SQL Server
- Strong analytical, problem solving, and communication skills
- Familiarity with OLAP Reporting tools and/or Business Intelligent software is a plus
- Bachelors Degree in Computer Science or related field
