System Engineer/Architect/Administrators design, construct, test and implement basic integrated network hardware and software solutions, distributed computing solutions, and physical/logical communications networks. They monitor performance to identify and resolve system infrastructure problems.

Experience and Skills
? 8+ years of Server/LAN OS (Windows/NT) architecture, hardware configuration, system fault tolerance - Mastery
? Designing, planning, configuring, and providing administration management of server systems IRI currently uses - Mastery
? Technical leadership and project management skills - Mastery
? Evaluation, recommendation, and selection of existing or emerging technologies in the marketplace to meet changing needs of business - Experienced
? Certifications strongly preferred (e.g., MCSE, CNE, Microsoft,)

Functional Accountabilities
? Design, plan, and implement file server upgrades & reconfigurations
? Select, implement, and use performance management tools to troubleshoot and resolve server performance problems
? Lead server deployment projects
? Coordinate with other technical groups; write presentations and procedures; Work directly and independently with vendor and client staff and management
? Consistently examine server hardware & OS components for potential security vulnerabilities; develop and implement processes, tools, and countermeasures to insure the operational and functional security of the operating systems
? Stay current and aware of new technology developments and apply to the systems
? Provide technical leadership and mentor less experienced staff; in coordination with Manager/Director, assist in ensuring timelines are met and work is up to expected levels of quality.

Education
BS/BA Degree in Computer Science (or equivalent) or experience
