Responsibilities:

The incumbent of this position will:
? Provide consulting services on a billable basis for IBM System x, BladeCenter, VMware, IBM Director, Vizioncore and PlateSpin products.
? Perform Server Consolidation studies for x86-based environments using IBM CDAT utilities and other available tools.
? Understand client?s existing x86-server and storage infrastructures; compare and contrast this infrastructure to the IBM System x product line.
? Support clients by telephone and in-person.
? Create and deliver polished proposals and client deliverables
? Coordinate hardware and software quotations with IBM sales teams.
? Provide timely and accurate work estimates for clients.
? Knowledgeable about products, applications, technical service, market conditions, competitive activities, advertising and promotional trends through the reading of pertinent literature and consulting with marketing and technical services.
? Plan and implement system upgrades, ensuring change management procedures and methodologies are implemented and followed.
? Recommend purchase of products or services necessary to support the test and production operating environments.
? Monitor multiple project priorities and ensures that appropriate management is apprised of the operation status of projects.
? Provide business and technical consultation and support to clients, project managers, product developers, users and other technical units.
? Develop and complete an education plan to grow skills consistent with client needs.

Qualifications:

? Five to Ten years of Windows Server experience
? Two to Four years of VMware ESX Server experience
? Bachelor?s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related discipline; equivalent experience acceptable.
? Ability to travel up to 50% as needed.
? Consulting, Pre-Sales, or Post-Sales experience.
? Strong interpersonal and presentation skills including consulting skills
? Strong oral and written communication skills.
